Rural Clinics

The Concept

Vishnu Danta Care (VDC) is a 3-tier dental care service delivery model based out of Bhimavaram, a Tier-2 town in West Godavari District, Andhra Pradesh. Currently, VDC is operating a chain of 46 secondary care, termed as “Rural Dental Clinics” and 6 flagship primary care programs focused on promoting oral health awareness in the neighborhood communities. The clinics are operated in a Hub and Spoke model where tertiary care center functions as the hub. 

Infrastructure: Rural Dental Clinics are equipped with 2 dental clinics, a qualified dental surgeon, dental nurse and an attender. Patients visiting will go through a preliminary examination, patient counselling, and receives treatment plan. All basic treatments are provided by the dental surgeon. Further, all speciality treatments are provided by consultants visiting on weekly basis.

In addition, the Tele-Dentistry unit, with full time Oral Medicine and Radiology (OMR) provides quality monitoring of the patient care services in Rural Dental Clinics and also facilitates the desired / required tele-consultations with specialists from various disciplines so that patients receives most effective treatment plan without having to wait till weekly consultant visits.

Promoting Employement: After passing out of colleges, dentists seek opportunities that provide high clinical exposure to help them in their future endeavours. Rural Dentists provide clinical services to patients and also undertake clinic management responsibilities and participate in Oral health awareness programs. Thus, they get empowered to run a private practice.
